Welcome
The Department of Drama at Queen Mary, University of London is an exciting, dynamic and creative place for budding practitioners and scholars in drama, theatre and performance studies.
Staff and students alike come together to collaborate and develop skills and knowledge through the practice of theatre and performance, and through the critical study of the history and culture of performance.
Our teaching and research embrace both contemporary and emerging art forms and the roots and rich history of the performing arts and theatre, especially those of the early modern period, the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
Based in East London, we have strong links with local and international organisations, from the London International Festival of Theatre and the Barbican, to local galleries and community arts projects. Everyone studying Drama at Queen Mary benefits from and contributes to the theatrical and cultural energy and diversity of the city and its many communities.
